The Foundation Shelter History
The Foundation Shelter History
The Foundation Shelter
opened its doors to homeless men in 1995. After a couple years of operation it was determined there was a need for homeless women also. We sent out an appeal to the community to help us provide a building that would house women and children as well as men. One year later the building was standing there on the corner of Sixth and Harrison Avenues. The land the building was built upon has since also been donated and deeded over to The Foundation Shelters Inc.
The ease with which this facility became a reality is a reflection of the generosity of the Lancaster/Fairfield Community.
